Surface Design Guild

Purpose

The purpose of the Guild is to increase community awareness of surface design and its value in our lives. As a group, we exchange information on such creative processes as dyeing, painting, printing, stitching, embellishing, quilting, weaving, knitting, felting, beading, basket making, polymer clay, crochet and papermaking. We also offer educational and experimental venues, thus supporting individual artistic creativity while promoting an attitude of mutual respect and exchange in all areas of surface design.

Membership

Membership in the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild is open to anyone with an interest in surface design of any variety. All levels of interest and expertise are welcome.

Monthly Meetings

The Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild meets monthly on the second Monday at the Lighthouse at Watson Center from 6:30-8:30 pm. See directions below. The guild also sponsors a monthly workshop to encourage creativity, innovation and share techniques amongst members. These workshops are usually held the third Sunday afternoon each month. Monday meetings are open to anyone. Workshops requires membership, which is $25 per year and includes a monthly newsletter (email or snail mail).

Going south on US 19, pass Ulmerton Road and turn right (west) onto 118th Ave. N. (Bryan Dairy Road). Stay on the Frontage Road in the right lane. Take the first street on the right and turn right (north) onto 69th Street. Take your first left onto 112th Circle. Parking is available in front.
